Annette has lived in Fredericton, Toronto and Bedford, Nova Scotia.. Her first studies in design led her to Ryerson University where she graduated from the Fashion Design and Applied Arts program. Her early career was in clothing design in Toronto. With a move back to Atlantic Canada she focused on family life and travels.
Oil paint is Annette’s medium of choice. She studied oil painting with the Dartmouth Art Students League , Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, and Mary Gaurette, a prominent artist and educator.
Annette’s style is representational. She is not afraid to use color and brushstroke. Her art practice is dynamic. The subject needs to be exciting and thought provoking. Her goal is to draw the viewer in without constraint and to have fun.
Richard Diebenkorn, Henri Matisse, Georgia O’Keefe, Emily Carr and Alice Neal are major influences to her style.
She has participated in group shows in Atlantic Canada.
